<img src="http://www.ecodetuning.com/gallery/eurocode/logos/logo_sl.jpg">

Stoptech has just released an amazing kit for all of you A6 owners-Both kits include rotors, Stoptech ST-60 6-piston calipers, and stainless steel brake lines.

These kits are designed to provide superior stopping power for your brand new A6! Stoptech took many, many hours to ensure that the fitment, rotor size, and braking power all matched up to Audi's new mean machine. If you plan on upgrading anything on your car, this should be the first thing to change! Stock brakes work, but bigger is always better!

I'm happy to see such things, even for an ad, and especially when there's a coupon involved. Vs. regular Audi brakes, what's the difference in breaking speed. i.e. from 70MPH how quickly will these brakes get you to stop vs. with a standard set?

...the ability to go fast truly is a function of your braking power, assuming you want to survive!

With these rotors/pads what is the sound level like?

I have a race setup on my GTR and it makes a racket unless fully on the brakes, 2pc floating rotors.

Maybe Audiism can comment on the noise and improved stopping distances.

Default Unlikely to make any difference in stopping distance for street use

Like most modern cars, the A6 can already easily lock all wheels during braking to the point of ABS engagement. The benefit of bigger brakes and higher performance pads really only relates to repeated high speed stops, which is typically seen on a racetrack, but not on the street.

The only way you can significantly reduce stopping distance on the street is to change weight distribution (good luck there!) or by using stickier tires.

By the way, Stoptech makes really good stuff, and if your application demands it, they would probably be a good way to go. I have a track friend with a Nissan Z car, which has notoriously weak stock brakes. He was having tremendous problems with brake fade and overheating on the track until he went to a Stoptech setup.

Default I repectfully disagree, caf

i have had many performance brake setups. Larger calipers and rotors have the ability of exert more stoping force b4 locking up the wheels. factory brakes will lock the wheels, yes but aftermarket performance brakes can exert more force, slowing down the vehicle faster b4 the point of lockup. hope this makes sence

Default Wait, so aftermarket brake kits magically add more traction to the tires!?!!?

Wait, not that's not possible. Darn those physics laws!!!

so by your reasoning unless the tires are upgraded Aftermarket performance brakes will stop the car no better then stock? (Just so long as stock can lock the tires up).

i dont think so, anyone who has actually experienced larger then stock brakes would know that their is lots to be gained by larger brakes even when they are cold.
