Exactly.

So if you lived in S. CA a year ago and bought your Audi and then moved to Iowa, dealer 1 is saying that they won't try and make you a customer and offer you a loaner because you didn't buy your car there? BS.

A loaner from Audi is a courtesy. It's not a requirement. And any dealer interested in keeping that high profit end of their dealership going will offer loaners no matter where you bought it.

And btw - I special ordered my 2010 A6 Avant last winter. They're very rare in S. CA. And I didn't pay MSRP. So don't buy the BS.

You might be shocked what you can buy that exact equipped A6 for if you don't mind flying or having it shipped..don't worry about where you service it..they'll take your $$ coast to coast

After you get your Audi, I'd contact the sales manager at dealer 1 and tell him about the BS story one of his sales guy tried feeding you.

UPDATE: Dealer 1 suddenly had some wiggle room when confronted with Dealer 2's price, but was only able to lower the price by $1400, still $2000 over Dealer 2. I placed my order today with Dealer 2.

I should have my A6 Prestige in Phantom Black Pearl/Black Interior, with Audi Side Assist and Cold Weather Package in about 4-5 weeks! Thanks to all for the advice and confirming my suspicions.

Congrats...did the dealer mention what, if any, changes were made to the 2011 vs 2010 A6?

Here's the same car, but with amaretto & black interior, for $47,461 ($49,461 if you don't qualify for owner loyalty):

I might be biased, but if you haven't seen the amaretto & black interior, I think it's a nicer/sportier interior than the straight black.

The changes are:
All of the 2011 A6 models will have the S Line exterior package (door sills, headlight washers, bumpers, trunk spoiler). The Premium Plus will have the Audi Parking System (back-up sensors that beep when you get near something behind you) WITHOUT the rearview camera. The Prestige adds the rearview camera.

I really like th S Line exterior package and the Audi Parking System. To me, that's worth paying for. Plus, the resale value will improve with a 2011 versus a 2010.
