Hi i decided to change my exhaust tips on 2006 A6 3.2Q S-line

Question is what kind of Magnaflow tips should I get?
1. What length? I assume 6" to 7.5" should work if i cut old one off.
2. In diameter is 2.25 and OUt opening is about 4.5". So what size tips should i get? 3" or 3.5" or 4"

Here is some samples:

MAGNAFLOW EXHAUST TIP 2.25" IN 2.5X3.2 OUT 7.5" L 35129 - that looks like OEM one.

Anyone has any experience wit exhaust tips?
What should i get?
What would be the best look and fitment?

So nobody changed there tips?

I changed my tips but went with quads and S6 valance. See pic poster.
You pretty much have to cut the old ones and weld the new ones on.

Do you like the plastic look of S6 valance?
I really like it painted.

i wanted to stick with the OEM S6 look, so i went with the platinum grey valance...i like it

Audi's website has chrome tips you can buy so they are larger than what is on the car now. I havent looked into them so not sure if they slide over the existing and then screw on from the side but likely that is the install method. No idea of cost and likely they charge too much. There should be plenty of options out there.

2008A6, can you shoot us a pic of your car so we can see your valance and tips. How did you put the dual tips on. Cut and weld on the new or something else?

Do you mind me asking how much and where you found the S6 valance?

Are you replacing the tips because they are so black, like mine, that you can't get them looking like chrome?
Does anyone else have black tailpipe tips that are almost impossible to get clean and shiny?

Mine are that way but I bought the car used with 17,000 miles so they had already reached that point and even steel wool wont get them back to normal now. If you keep them polished from new they will stay that way but these are more polished chrome than seems like chrome plated. Thats my guess of course because they just dont hold a shine like most chrome.
