I think those numbers look awesome. I bet that sucker scoots with the hammer down. What is impressive to me is that you have roughly 80% of your max torque through better than 3000 rpms. That is a very wide powerband that can potentially outrun a lot of cars with higher peak numbers. Do you know what your top speed is?

You've seen the update to that post right?

My new HP and TQ numbers are below in blue in my sig. Although the TQ is good, the power is really lacking on top end in my opinion to really hang with the big boys (M & AMG). But I guess the S6 was never really meant to.
Don't get me wrong, the car is fast, just not scary fast.

Agreed. Tranny losses are substantial on this model. I believe other Audi trannys are more efficient, but I do not know this for certain. The S6 really deserves the full Lambo V10, and not a tuned down version of it... but then again I'm not sure what that would have done for the sales of the RS6 in Europe. More power can be had from the vehicle with an APR tune. See my other posts on this subject.

Octane ratings are measures of fuel stability. These ratings are based on the pressure at which a fuel will spontaneously combust (auto-ignite) in a testing engine. The octane number is actually the simple average of two different octane rating methods—motor octane rating (MOR) and research octane rating (RON)—that differ primarily in the specifics of the operating conditions. The higher an octane number, the more stable the fuel. Retail gasoline stations in the United States sell three main grades of gasoline based on the octane level:
