Hi Guys. Please please assist me. I have a Audi S6 4.2 V8 with a Tiptronic gearbox. Only when i start it in the morning it gives me problems. When i select reverse its ok, but when i select DRIVE it takes a while to select and when i then drive the car it feels as if the handbrake is up. After driving it for a short while and stop switch the car off and start it again the problem is sorted. it then never does it again untill the next morning. The dispaly on the dash looks like its highlighted when it gives a problem and i cant select the gears from the steering wheel, but after switching the car off and restart it again it all works fine. Please please help me.

By highlighted, do you mean all the gear selection lights are lit up?

Sounds like limp mode which means you are either low on fluid or have a very expensive rebuild ahead of you.

What year is the S6 and how many km/miles does it have on the clock?

Change ur Fluid , update you software. FLUSH it and perform adaptation.... i asked around forever, none answered...
i took it to the dealer. the cost was about $ 1300.
luckily the pan was leaking so the warranty covered most of it since the gasket was bad...
i paid $300 only...

i do have to go back since 1st and 2nd gear are still acting ... the tech told me seems like the gearbox mounts are bad...
well see...

Its a 2003 model and have 161000km on the clock. I understand that it could be that i need a oil flush on the gearbox.
