Audi Side Assist

Hi. I'm about to order a 2011 A6. I was wondering if anybody had any feedback on the side assist option, positive or negative.

Also in the event that I find I don't like the side assist, does anybody know if it can be turned off?

I have not seen them on the A6 but on the A5 there is a switch so I suspect the A6 will have it also.
