I know there have been a couple of threads on this and I've read everything I've found but I don't see how the center brake light actually comes out once you have it unclipped? Do you have to rotate it as you remove it? It seems like the glass on hatch keeps it from coming out. I can giggle it and move it around a few mm back and forth but it is not just coming out like everyone has posted.

Wow, overwhelming responses! Finally got it out. You have to really pry it up from the bottom. I thought I was going to break it. I tested it when I got it out of the car with a 12v power supply and it wouldn't light up, so I'm assuming it's no good. I've been trying to open it up because I've read that the solder on the pins can go bad and I'd love to just flow some new solder in there and fix it, but I can't separate the red plastic from the rest of it for the life of me.

The red plastic is weld to the rest of the light. You have to break the plastic weld to access the solder. I try it on mine but at this time, my soldering skill wasn't good enough so I order a new one from ecs. But it worth a try because it is not working anyway... Good luck.
