need to be replaced! I'm not in love with the fact that my engineer might be replaced. Will this depreciate the value of the car? Will it mess with the mileage? Will it show up on Carfax? At this point should i sadly be looking to trade this car in?

Can you elaborate on the "rumble?"
Shortly after I got my car, I noticed whenever it starts cold that after cranking and the engine firing up, it'll struggle at 600rpm or so for a second or two and then shoot up to 1200rpm and gently settle down. Whereas, a normal car will shoot straight to 1200rpm or so and settle without that struggle before hand.
If the car is warmed up and has only been sitting a short while (less than 30 minutes), it'll start fine. There's this window between 1 and 3 hours of sitting after being warmed up where the car will die during the initial "struggle" and will take a try or two to finally start, with the engine sometimes indefinitely cranking and not catching at all until I hit stop and try again.
Frustrating.
Hope your engineer is able to resolve the problem without replacing the entire engine.
BTW, I replied to your post in a thread below regarding my dealer looking at the injectors now.

Re: Well, if you replace the "engineer", then your engine might not have to be replaced.
They got back to me, after opening her up. They found tiny grooves in the piston cillinders making the car vibrate when cold start. They are replacing the long block (the entire engine and assembly) with a remanufactured engine. They said it won't show up on carfax, wont change warranty, mileage, anything. Will this depreciate the value of my car?
