I asked my wife for another status update on this yesterday. She now reports that it works a little better, but it's not completely resolved.

I would roll the iPhone back to an earlier iOS if it were simple to do so.

How much is the dealer going to charge for the software update on the MMI?

Yeah, I think it might have been when I installed iOS 5 as well. Does anyone else believe this is when the issue began? If so, we can submit a bug here: https://developer.apple.com/bugreporter/ and everyone can reference the same issue number. 5.1 is the latest OS (even for developers).

I think going to the current MMI a few years ago cost me $100.

I'm certain that's when the problem started. I've read hundreds of reports on this over at Apple.

I may check with the dealer about doing the MMI upgrade and see what they'd charge. I don't mind attacking it from that direction unless it's foolishly expensive.

I think I'm on current MMI and the issue happens there. Regardless I'd upgrade MMI if yours is really old.

Ohh, that's not good. Didn't realize it was still a problem

I haven't checked, but it's fully possible that the MMI software is still the original from 2006.

Well, I think in this thread we're noting that the issue started with iOS 5 so it's probably an Apple issue not an Audi issue

Yep, I agree 100%. I was under the impression it was to be corrected in with iOS5.1, but that's not the case. I hope it doesn't turn into one of these finger pointing excercises where no one will take responsibility for it.

Does anyone know of a thread on Apple forums about this? Perhaps we could all post there (or make a new one) and then maybe post bug reports. I wonder if it's isolated to Audis (or even A6s).

And I thought it was just me. Glad someone posted about this. My Iphone 4 from work with iOS 5 does the same thing. Wish I had my BlackBerry back!
