The part I was talking about is the piece of trim at the bottom of the door. I think that you're piece is actually below the door?
The piece I have has a plastic white bracket which snaps into the piece of trim. You can very carefully remove it and then snap it into another piece.
I'll try and take a picture of the part when I get a chance.

when i had the part off the car ..i wanted to find and photo the pn stamped on the part but i could not find it
i 100% remember looking to see if would separate and even using light force but there was nothing obvious and i didnt want to risk bending it
do u remember how u got to know that it would separate?
does the exterior slide down off the bracket like a sheath?
does it peel or clip off from the sides?
did you use any tools? maybe door trim tools?

The shop I brought it to actually did it. I was all ready to pay to paint the part and they managed to get the small plastic bracket off and install it on the old blade. As I recall it was removed very gently with a screwdriver.
I haven't really looked at it in 6 months so I will try and take another look and post pictures when I do.

it looks like the cold n wet weather is making it gap more and more
i maybe even developing gaps on my drivers side aswell
i will most likely ride out the winter and repair them in the spring
i prefer not to paint the new piece 1 that it saves money (not much but still)
and 2 sometimes a newly painted piece doesnt match up 100% with the old paint
