Brake Fluid Change Every 2 Years?

Just had my '05 4.2 in for the 25,000 mile service (car is now 26 months old) and was expecting that the brake fluid would be changed per A6 manual. Got home and reviewed the work order and discovered that the dealership recommends replacing the brake fluid at my own expense. Shouldn't the dealership have recommended the fluid change when I dropped the car off...especially since they don't do it as part of the normal 25,000 included maintenance?

years.
As you know, brake fluid absorbs water like crazy, so brake controller or caliper failure is not unheard of in cars with higher miles/years.
Also, brake fluid with moisture present will cause longer stopping distances as well as mushy pedal. Something to ponder.
