Brake Pads, Is a VAG-COm tool need to change rear brakes?

Sorry for bring this thread back up but I actually changed the rear brakes on my 06 A6 and did it without the tool. Yes the piston will not go in (even with the electromagnetic brake plug disconnected). But I found if I turn the piston clockwise about 10turns, I could then press the piston in, then repeat until I got it all the way down. Took about 10mins just turning and pressing. But it worked just fine. So you dont NEED the tool but it will make it alot easier.
Its sad that you need the damn VAG-COM just to get the damn electromagnetic brake to release. Pisses me off actually since Im highly DIY and built engines and other things and these new cars flipping need a computer to change brake pads.
