Default Brake Rotar and Pad OEM?

Does anyone know who the brake rotor and pad OEM is/was for a 2006 A6 3.2L?

Is there a particular reason you are going OEM?

Get some nice Brembo or Zimmerman rotors and Akebono ceramic pads and you will most likely be better off. The Akebono are far less brake dust and have great consistent stopping.

I'm thinking that the OEM's will have better durability. Am I wrong?

I've had both OEM and the setup I mentioned to you...go with the setup I recommended...it has been far better for me and I'd be happy doing it again.

I went with REDSTUFF ceramic pads, much better than OEM.

I replaced mine first time with Pagid OEM compound. I was told by World Impex that that (and Textar) was same as Genuine Audi. They were great. Seemed exactly like the OEM which IMHO are very good. (yes they are dusty but they have good bite and feel and fade resistance.)
I just did mine for the second time and did Centric rotors with Stoptech street performance pads. Feel is about the same and so is friction coefficient. Still dusty. I tried Hawk ceramics on my other Audi once and was very unhappy with the friction coefficient. (so much so that I removed them and replaced with Pagid there too) Akebono may be better but I have been hesitant to buy another set of ceramic pads after that experience.

I second this opinion. I've used Akebono's front and rear for the past 60K miles and they are awesome with much lest dust.

+2 on Akebonos. I used to go through my OEM pads every 25K miles. Worse, they really ate up the rotors which needed replacing with every pad change.

I've been using Akebonos for 30K miles and only used about 30% of the pads. My rotors are barely worn and I stopped using wheel cleaners because there is no dust to clean.

Where have you purchased the Akebono pads and the rotors - assuming you recommend them?
