i would really recommend you go for the pkg that you like as apposed to saving 1K then regretting the choice down the road. I don't know that i would like this car as much without the gadgets... but either way recommend extended warranty just because of those gadgets

offered by Audi. It's a hit in the beginning and really brings the car up to $28700, but other CPOs from the dealer cost about the same but only a 2 year warranty. What do you think?

is find out who the used car specialist is at the Audi dealer that you wish to deal with. Tell them that you will give them $1K profit to take you to an dealer auction and buy you a car that you want. Then get it CPO'd by the dealer and you will both be happy.
I would also buy the 4.2L with all the options. The black/amaretto is a sweet look. The prices are so low on used cars, now is the time to get as much car as you can and not worry about gas prices since you are saving many thousands. I would also look at the A8 loaded. That is the flagship and is a great car as well. I have found the A6 to be very reliable and solid. The 4.2L engine is world class.

Is that what you did? I went to my local Audi and spoke with the used car specialist and the lowest bid they could for the A6 4.2 all options is $27,000 and they said last week someone bid higher than that and they lost the car. Audi must have a huge mark up on these auctions. Looked on Audi USA and most dealerships are selling the same car for around $27000 to $35,000. The nice thing about CPO is the warranty, however it is marked up. If you buy from a Independent dealer it is lower and the Audi Pure Protection program for $2800 lasts for 4 years and 48,000 miles.
Does this all sound about right???
