Driver side door handle broke this morning on my 04 A8L and my dealer gave me 06 A6 3.2 for me to drive.
Here is my review:
- Engine little under powered but decent.
- 6 speed trans more smooth and responsive than my 04 A8L
- Panel gaps and build quality is awesome.
- In Auto mode, little info screen on your dash indicate what gear you are in - I liked it alot
- Key fob - fits in your palm like glove (nice shape).
- Interior feel small and tight (compare to A8-no kidding, right?)
Good car overall.
That's all.

Glad you like it - I went from a D2 A8 to the C6 A6 and I haven't looked back.
I wanted the D3 A8L, but couldn't justify the extra $30,000 to myself, since I only drive my own car about 8,000 miles per year (I should buy a damn plane, I fly 80,000 - 100,000 miles every year). I drive rental cars as much as my own car, and I usually get some midsize POS made by GM or Hyundai ... talk about being glad to come home - driving home from the airport in the A6 is the first highlight when returning to Austin ...
Love the A6, no regrets here ...

I fly those airplanes you ride on, and the experience is great, but I can't wait to get home and jump in my A6 for some weekend fun!
My wife is one of those who only thinks of cars as transportation. She just doesn't understand what it is about the enjoyment we get from our "transporters."
