This morning, the center dash display was dead.

Before I head over to the service department I was curious if anyone had any idea troubleshooting tips I might employ. It's the smaller color display in the center of the instrument panel.

Everything else is working (radio, MMI main screen, etc..).

Of course the car's out of warranty!!

i had exactly the same thing. the screen dead, non of other MMI thing worked. radio nav etc....
Unfortunately i think it is the MMI Control Unit. Module 07 # 4F0-910-732-QX. They will diagnose it first and see what it is. but if thats the case, if u are handy, the module is located inside glov box. u would have to remove the glove comp. hope this will help. of course after installing u would need to adapt and unlock all the other BS...
i paid over $1500 to replace it , w a discount otherwise it would have been over $2K

Last resort, check the Fuse Box... u never know...
