Default check engine light came on/ then went off

hey guys my engine light came on this morning. after the third or fourth start up, it went off. think i should take it in or wait for it to come back on?

If you are still under warranty, you should take her in. I think the fact that the light came up previously should be stored in the computer.

yea youre probably right. its just that they always give me a hard time when they can't duplicate the issue. ill call tomorrow morning. thanks for the advice

They should be able to see if the car is throwing any codes. I had a similar problem with my 06 A4, twice. First time they told me it was the seat belt tensioner, and that a briefcase must have pushed down on it (made no sense). Next time it stayed on for about 24 hours after I had just gotten fuel. They claimed it was another sensor related to the fuel cap. Basically I don't think it's serious. The guy told me the engine light would be flashing if it was a real serious problem.

And not just Audi's..they all have quirks. I'd wait a week or so to see if it re accrues..if there's a problem it should repeat I would think.

ive had my old a4's light come on because of the fuel cap. but no idea why it popped on today then go off. im going to call in the morning and see what they say
