Default Coil Burned - Will Audi cover under warranty? Anyone have TSB's ,please?

I start up my car Sun night, it’s running rough, MIL starts flashing so I shut it down and open the hood, here’s what I see:

Will Audi honor the TSB or recall even if my vehicle is out of the new car warranty period? I’ve been in touch with Bell Audi (NJ) and they are sending someone to tow it in tomorrow. Does anyone have any TSB or recall information that could possibly help me? Thank You..

Check this out: audiusa.com/coils

I'd think they'll recognize that the real issue was the defective coil packs in the car.

OMG!

mine says Mar 10 - May 10

what exactly does that mean?

Do i have to take it in on my own to get it fixed
or will they call me and tell me to take it in
or will i have to wait for my engine bay to catch fire

That's simply their planned/expected time window they think the dealer will have sufficient parts, ask you to bring your car in to replace any bad coil packs (assuming you didn't have a failure prior to then)

You should be able to call the dealer now, tell them you got the coil pack notice (letter) AND one just went bad, can you please bring the car in for them to swap them all out.

I got the letter last fall for my S6, had the car at the dealer last week for something else and asked them to do the preemptively do the coil pack swap...which they happily did.

I recieved my recall notice as well, just waiting for the letter telling me it's miy turn. You should have NO PROBLEM what so ever having this covered under warrenty. Just make sure they replace all of them per the recall notice.

I don't think Audi knows that I own an A6. Should I register my car with the dealer for the notice?

iirc, the letter comes from AoA. If you haven't taken it to an Audi dealer for service (which would get you "in the system", may want to call AoA to get registered as an owner. Helpful for this, other recalls.

Lucky me. My 2006 A6 warranty expired at the end of last month. Will this be something that they will still replace or should I expect to foot the bill?

If your A6 is covered by the coil recall, the repair will cost you nothing. If not covered by the recall, you'll pay.
