I am the original owner of my 05 4.2. The tranny and differential fluids were replaced almost 20,000 miles ago and the rumble has not returned. Apparently Audi put the wrong ATF in some of the 05s and that is why the replacement with the correct fluid seems to fix the problem.

Welcome to the club.

Just sent it to you in a PM thanks Kevin, that also makes sense about the correct fluid. Do you know exactly what the correct tranny and diff fluids are??

Well had it in to the shop for a look as there was a few other things I wanted them to do since the purchase of the car and sure enough they replaced it. I could have driven it a while yet as it wasn't very loud more or less just when turning one direction under speeds, but since the factory warranty is up in about 2K I thought I had better have them check her out.
