I have a 2005 A6 with the CPO warranty. When I purchased it, the salesperson told me that routine maintenance was included throughout the full term of the CPO warranty. The local Audi service department says that maintenance is only included through the original warranty and wants $550 for the 55,000 mile service.
Does anyone know what maintenance is covered by the CPO warranty?
Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. The salesperson is no longer at the dealership so talking to him isn't an option. My fault for not getting it in writing.
Doing it myself may end up being considerably more expensive due to my total incompetence in things mechanical.

The other replies have already informed you that CPO doesn't cover maintenance, so I don't need to go there. The 55k service is considered a "major" (read expensive) one. I had it done on my '05 recently. If you are not mechanically adept, this is NOT a good car to learn on. If you don't want to use the dealer, find a good independent mechanic who's experienced with Audi's. If you can't document that you've maintained the car as per the recommended schedule, you afford Audi an opportunity to walk away from repairs that may be covered under CPO.
Also, remember that CPO is different from the original bumper-to-bumper warranty that covered the first 4yrs/50k miles. It is named component coverage, so make sure that you know what is covered. I only mention this since your sales person obviously wasn't completely forthright with you.

Additional maintenance coverage for 55,000miles and 65,000miles can be purchased separately for $850 if not CPO only will cover the original maintenance which is good till 50,000miles only (technically 45,000miles since there is no 50,000miles scheduled maintenance)

which for a fee would have included the scheduled maintenance at 55k and 65k... should have been offered to you at time of purchase...

I just did the 55k maintenance on mine, not a big deal. There is a thread on this forum by IanB that is excellent in walking you through the plug and air filter change......
