Curious about braking when using cruise control

Curious about braking when using cruise control
I think I'm correct in saying that the cruise will apply the brakes on a downhill to maintain the selected speed. Do the brake lights come on when this happens?
No special reason for asking, just something I thought about.

Re: Curious about braking when using cruise control
I believe it will brake only if you hold the cruise control stalk in the decelerate position for over 3 seconds. When I first got the car in `05, I posted my displeasure with that feature. It causes the ABS to kick in and the car shudders. Good question about the brake lights, I don't know. We need someone to follow in the rear and let us know.

Only with ACC
And then, the brake lights go on only when the brakes are applied above a certain threshold, as the ACC is pretty generous with applying brakes. I tried this by following my wife in dense traffic
