since last evening my trunk latch has been having issues closing. I continue to slam the trunk down and sometimes it closes and sometimes not. However, every time I still get the following picture in my center display advising me that the trunk is not closed. BTW, I've tried the wd-40 'trick' and do you all figure that it's just best that I get a replacement trunk latch?

It will get worst with cold weather. This is a known issue and Audi put out TSB ordering replacement for cars under warranty. So if your car has warranty let Audi fix it and if not then buy new latch and fix it as this problem once it starts does not go away.

SOLVED it...
I took off the trunk liner and noticed that the wiring into the latch was loose, so I removed and repluged it in, securely.
I also adjusted the 'catch bolt' which the latch fits into to sit just a bit higher, with a standard 10mm ratchet.
After doing both things, the trunk shuts just fine and no alarm showing in the center display.
It may only be a temp fix, based upon all the TSB data re: the faulty latch design. But for now it's working as per design and I'm happy

I had the same issue several years ago.... very annoying problem that came and went but did get worse with cold weather. The dealer replaced it under my extended warranty.

well I go to the car this morning and guess what guys...the darn trunk/boot light comes on in the center dash...arghhhh same issue.
So I just ordered a new latch and should have it in less than a week and will do the swap.
When I do I'll post a DIY and pics to help folks walk through this.

so over the weekend the temp dropped even more. I have ordered the new latch BTW, which will arrive this week. However, all of a sudden my latch is working great. no alarm on the center screen and everything is working as per design.
I'm still intending to swap it out, since these 'miracle fixes' rarely last, but just thought i'd share...very weird.
