Default deck lid latch problem...

06 A6 having problem getting trunk to latch in colder (40 or less)temps. I have to slam lid several times, and sometimes it will unlatch while driving. But none of this happens at 50 degrees or warmer. I cleaned and lubed the latch but no change. Do I need to replace the latch ?

common problem... do a search and u will find more detailed responses
but i will sum it up for u

u can get lithium grease spray and will help somewhat but will come back
u can try WD40 but will not as ideal

latch is cheap enough and u get piece of mind
pn is 4F5827505
the higher the letter in the end the better bc audi has made improvements
i would not go earlier then 4F5827505E or 4F5827505F

Plus 1. I did the spray for awhile and then broke down a couple of years ago and had the dealer replace the latch under warranty.
