DIY'ers Repair material--must have's?
Sorry, my first post but I've been lurking for over a year and now have a needy question open to anyone really. which "affordable" manuals would you advise DIY'ers to have? I've seen reference to Ebahn(?) is this a subscription service or a paper manual, but I've also read it's not always the easiest to decipher or leaves alot of info out and the auto stores don't seem to carry the typical DIY repair manual's for Audi.

I think most folks here use the Bentley manual.

$129.95
It would be great if there was a torrent available like here (http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?p=2979613) - too bad its for a B5 and not a C6.

Am_Ver I understand..but if I plan on keeping a series such as the C6's (which I do) I'll spend what it takes (within reason) for a decent service manual. I have noticed they pop up on ebay and CL when people sell the car and forget to include the manual they purchased, most seem to be CD/DVD's for around $60, the CD is great for fast searching but losey if you don't have a laptop and you want the info close by so you end up printing it out.. but it is what it is. I always liked thegreat Chilton Manuals which also all library's have..you can sure tell they are used regularly..the grease finger prints are a sure sign.
Sine the c6 series is going at least till 2010 from 05 and maybe beyond, I think it's be a good investment and you know you can always sell it here if you ever leave the great C6., that's almost a given, matter of fact I think I'll check the classifieds

I also hope you get the brake job done safely and properly..hang in there, I notice your getting a few good suggestions. BTW, have you checked the library..it's doubtful on hand but ya never know, they can look search other systems for a Bentley

If you're planning to perform any DIY service, you need the Bentley Repair Manual...
which is the official C6 repair manual. The DVD version (only one available for the C6) uses the eBahn reader. The manual also includes updates and TSBs as part of the purchase, so it is worth the price many times over. Even though I had the four volume paper set (which I prefer) for my C4 A6 Avant, the electronic version works well - you just have to print out the pages you need to take out to the garage to work on the car.
