Does anybody know why the speed measure is different between the normal and the electronic meters?

If you put your car on cruise control at a certain speed, reset the electronic average speed indicator and wait a couple of seconds, the electronic speed measurment is always lower than the other ("normal") one. I think the electronic one is correct because I checked it against the speed measured by fixed radars (here, most villages have this at the entry of the village to remind the drivers to slow down in populated areas).
It would be nice if the normal speed meter could be correct too. Is there a way to correct it?

some Audi drivers are sometimes seen as slow a$$... by people driving cars or SUVs with the more accurate american speed meters. It confirms my will to stay with the OEM tire size proposed by Audi.
