Default Does this sound right or did they do it wrong?

I brought my 2005 3.2 A6 in for preset stations jumping around. I went armed with the TSB. They ordered a new Nav disk called me back to put it in. Today, they installed Version 8 told me I was all set to go. When I started the car, the Nav Disk wasn't recognized. I checked the MMI version, and it was still 10.7. I went back in and told them it wasn't working and thought they missed a step. I asked if they needed to update the MMI software as well. They took the car and returned it 15 minutes later and the Nav was working. I checked the MMI version and it was still 10.7. I didn't have anymore time to waste today and need to bring it back to replace an external door lock button. Did I missread the TSB, or should I pursue them updating the MMI to the latest version? I want better functionality with my BB 8830 and understand that this is the only way to accomplish it.

Default uh, they f*cked up. I have an 05 3.2q A6 as well, and a BB Curve. I had the 8830 - more...

and after the update to the MMI, worked great. Linked up to the entire phone book, missed calls, dialed calls etc. I even had the vag com changed to allow me to use the phone's voice system, which works ok, not the greatest. The dealers are the biggest pains in the *** about doing this MMI update, I don't get it.

Default ya, tell them to read the TSB next time. then again, with such incompetence I'd be worried I get a

working car back...might want to research another dealer...

Default Nope, replaced it due to the bouncing memory presets. I just bought

it as a CPO, read the things here about MMI versions and wanted to get the updated versions without giving them money. My feeling is if I buy a CPO, they should've updated everything before I took delivery. They feel differently. I did experience the station preset problem intermitenly and took it as the oppotunity to upgrade everything. I had the original Nav disk and found it very inacurate, now I have the latest Nav, but still on ver 10.7.

I had my 2003 A4 serviced there with no issues, normally they are very good... Not sure what the problem was this time. Maybe they were mad I didn't buy it from them.

it's 2 CDs and an hr's labor, maybe two. sorry, but that's just laziness. I'd offer to pay for 1 hr.

Default My car was a CPO, and i'm stuck with 7.50 and i'm pretty sure the old nav disk.

shouldn't they have upgraded that for free? Or do I have a case to make them do that? I have to take my car back in cause they broke my wood trim piece while replacing my door paneling. Should I demand that they do the work for free, since it looks like they should have updated things.

Default yes, but don't be surprised if they say no. the dealer has to charge you for the nav disc. it's up

to them on the labor.
