Default Dropped Calls with Bluetooth still!

I have a Motorola MPX220 with AT&T (Cingular) service and a 2005 Audi A6. I constantly get dropped called after 5 minutes or so of calling using bluetooth. I had the same problem with the Audiovox SMT5600. I can't switch phones at the moment, so does anyone have any suggestions for not having dropped calls anymore? This basically makes the bluetooth feature of my car useless.

Please help!!

Thanks in advance.
Ali

Default My A6's BT just isn't ready for prime time

I have had three different BT phones. All have worked to some degree, but none has been completely functional, and none of the problems have been predictable. I have given up on using BT with my A6. It is a shame, too, because when it works correctly, it is fantastic.

Default I've had no problems: RAZR, T616

Both my Sony Ericsson T616 and my Motorola RAZR have worked flawlessly with my A6 bluetooth headset. Sorry y'all are having so much trouble!

Sagewithin, can you explain how your calls are dropping? Is the phone losing Bluetooth connection to the car, or is your Cingular Service actually dropping the call?

Well, the phone call itself gets dropped. I don't think the issue is with the phone though because I can use my bluetooth headset with it without any problems and never have dropped calls that way. It's only when I use the Audi that the call will suddenly just hang up. This happens even if I have full bars on my phone, so it's not because of bad reception.

Thanks,
Ali

Default I had the exact same problem....

...with the MPX220. I tried to solve with Audi and Cingular, but gave up. I eventually exchanged the phone for a Siemens S65 and bought a cradle on German ebay. It works perfectly. I have little confidence in the Bluetooth setup. I tried MPX220, Motorola V551, Audiovox 5600, and a friend's Treo 650. All worked to some extent, but each one had one or more limitations (Couldn't download the phonebook to the car, didn't see the signal bar on the car's screen, dropped calls, whatever. I wanted the functionality to be 100%. $40K Bluetooth headset, my butt. I wonder if there is an update of the software on the way. My next phone will be the Treo 650 when Audi finally gets the cradle in stock.
