Default Emergency Brake issue

I have a 05 A6 that developed an issue with the left parking brake. Connected Vag Com and found the following fault code:

Shop #: WSC 02032 444 57211
VCID: 2045DE3FF3D8C29

1 Fault Found:
02432 - Supply Voltage for Left Parking Brake Motor (V282)
011 - Open Circuit - MIL ON
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 11101011

Not sure what this is telling me. I removed the parking brake motor from the left side and connected it to the right sides wiring harness and it works fine. Would this be something with the wiring or maybe the parking brake module is bad? Wiring looks good with no cracks or frays. Using the Vag Com I can get the right parking brake to function but the left is dead. Anyone help me with this?

I had the same issue with my right parking cable, it was frayed right at the connector. If you unfold some of the rubber insulation, you can see the two wires, sometimes salt, dirt, etc gets inside the rubber and creates an open in the wire. Took it to an Indy with great electrical experience and it took about an hour's labor to solder some new wire. Good luck

Same here, pulled the protecting rubber sleeve after the connector and there it was a rusted broken + wire. I cut the rust out and soldered a piece of same gauge wire. Problem gone. I added marine silicone to both sleeves to help prevent this issue in the future.

Thanks for your comments. Both of you nailed the problem.
After reinspecting the wiring on my car - I found out that Audi does not use electrcial tape to cover it's wires, but much to my suprise - the previous car owner did. The drivers side wire harness had already been repaired before which failed. Made the repairs with new wiring and all is back in working order.
