A few of us changed the brakelight settings to make the light flashing under emergency braking conditions. Something like this:


Yesterday I was behind BMW 750 and I noticed that it had a different setup. When the driver pushed the brake hard, it went from regular brake lights to brake lights plus the rear fog lights. I (the guy behind) found it very helpful.

So is that a standard BMW feature or a custom one. Or maybe the driver pulled the switch manually?
So is there a way to wire Audi to do the same?

Unless the code in the USA has changed recently, auto flashing lights are not compliant.


I agree that it can be helpful as a signal when the car ahead is under aggressive braking.

I believe BMW has had the adaptive brake light feature on the 3, 5, and 7 series going back to the early 2000's?
