Extended warranty
I was just reading about Honda Care, which is supposedly the Honda USA backed policy. It is now available to Audi's. Sounds too good to be true...is it? Anyone know anything about this?
I am thinking of getting an extended warranty as I may well keep my car 6+ years. My dealership only offers 3rd party warranties, which I'm leery about. Does Audi offer its own manufacturer backed warranty on new vehicles?

Example Honda Care site here

Re: Extended warranty
It seems interesting but in the coverage section there is no mention of any of the C6's high tech components like Nav, MMI related controls etc. These are the things that will be very expensive to repair once out of warranty.

Re: Extended warranty
American Automobile Association ("AAA") offers an extended warranty called platinum. It is an exclusionary policy so it covers everything on the car except the items that are listed. The listed items are maintenance items, winshield wipers, brake pads, etc. Hopefully this will mean that the Audi's high tech items will be covered. The 84 month/100,000 mile warranty was about $2,800/$2,900 for my 05 4.2. My Audi dealer accepts the warranty coverage, so when the time comes I can continue to have all work done at the dealer.

CPO an alternative?
I could be wrong, probably am, BUT -- I believe my dealer told me that a CPO (certified pre-owned) designation (which takes the warranty from 4 years 50K miles to 6 years 100,000 miles) is priced at $1295.
As long as certain conditions are met, it is possible to CPO your own car.
This was a conversation I had with my dealer's long time employee and my long time Audi specialist when I was contemplating keeping my 2003 allroad (because I had not yet "let go" of the notion that an Audi is only an Audi if it has, or at least is offered with, a manual transmission -- bygones.)
I recall him saying that I must CPO the car -- and pay for it -- before the OE Audi Advantage expired. At the time, the deal was something like this: lease the car for 36 months 45/K miles, turn the car in and "stake claim" to buy the car from Audi financial (and the dealership will help with this "stake.") Then pay the dealership the CPO fee and drive off with an additional 55/K warranty or up to three years (first come.)
Maybe this can only play out this way if you are leasing and in effect become the "second" buyer of the vehicle (Audi Financial being the first, of course, with you "renting it" for X period and miles.)
This seems to be more cost-effective than a $2,800 non-Audi warranty.
If it is true.

Check out 1SourceAutoWarranty.com and WarrantyDirect.com first
You should check out 1SourceAutoWarranty.com and WarrantyDirect.com.
WarrantyDirect.com seems like a better company for Audis.
I am still on the fence about purchasing an extended warranty as I bought one from 1source for a 2004 Maxima.
I sold the car and filed the paperwork to get a refund of my warranty and still have not received a check.
