Default And it is finally here! 2006 A6 C6 S-Line Misano Red!

Excited! Got the new car today! 2006 C6 S-Line in Misano Red Pearl Effect and Ebony leather. Car is soup to nuts loaded and even has the solar sun roof, which is pretty neat. Car was clean when I got it, only has 45K on the clock and was freshly dealer serviced before I got it. (New valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, coil packs, oil change, air filter and in cabin filter) and yes, the dealership finally found out what was wrong with the ACC and that was fixed. Car is amazing! Smooth shifts in the tranny even though I personally think the tranny is hopeless, but once you stick it in tiptronic or "S" mode, its a totally different car. Only problem is the MPG goes down to Hummer status when is "S" or tiptronic. So far the MPG has been impressive, did a 120mi trip and it averaged 27mpg which I thought was excellent for a 4.2l V8. My 08 TL and my 09 Caddy CTS 3.6 DI AWD didn't even hit that. Car even came with the original Window sticker!!! Which was a plus. Everything in the car works flawlessly except for the handle on the center console. The spring inside the release lever must be shot because it just flops around, but still locks so I'll deal with it.

Now just waiting for the weather to clear up so I can do some major paint overhaul on the C6. "Wash, Clay, Iron Cut, Klasse Polish, Klasse Glaze, Wax" If I have time, Ill take the wheels off and clay those and wax 'em, or I may wait till I can get the wheels over to an alloy specialist and have the curb rash taken out of em.

Here are the pictures of the outside. I'll follow up with more pictures once I get all the detailing done.

Only thing bothering me right now is the battery. Dealership said battery was bad, $250~ to replace the battery. I know that is high and normally I do all my own wrenching, but when I started to read the posts about battery tenders, hooking the car up to the Vag-com system, restoring values and such; eh what the hell, let someone else do it. So shopped around, ended up at Pep boys. $180.00 for the battery and install but, the battery isn't the same size, it is smaller, the moron didn't put the cover on right so now my trunk lining is all goofy looking, and now just kicking myself and should have spent the extra $60 and went to Audi to get the right battery put in. I dunno what are all of your thoughts on this? Plus i thought I was going to get a bosch battery, but got a pro-start. I dunno, enjoy the pics.

*** Ok so tried to upload and there is a size limit, so I can only get one pic going, so I will work on the rest.

Looks great! I love the red. Can I ask you what you paid? I have the same engine, options and mileage and I'm thinking about selling mine.

Yeah this was a great find! I originally was looking to get a 2011 CTS-V, started working the deal but couldn't agree on financing. Argued over the dealership. They said my credit was too low(728) Now I told them I thought 720's meant excellent and then they told me GMAC(ALLY) only considers preferred at a minimum of 780. Otherwise the APR was 8.9%??? How do you get from 3.9% for 60 month to 8.9% for 60 month? Plus I was putting down $40K and financing $28K, still wouldn't lower the rate. So I talked to an ALLY rep and she wasn't any help, really rude, and treated me like I was second rate trash. SO I ripped into her, told her, "Look, 2008 when GMAC needed a bailout, taxpayers which I am bailed you out, so you could reorganize and get back to black on the sheet. All I am looking to do is borrow my own money." Still, didn't care so I left the deal. So finally I embarked on a search for a A6. Looked around and settled on 3 "06 C6 4.2l silver/blk 58K miles $22.8K, '08 C6 4.2 s line oyster gray/ammaretto 68K miles $27K, '06 C6 black/black s-line 67K miles $26K. Started to work a deal with the silver one only because of the lower miles, but didn't want silver and wanted s line. the '08 c6 wouldn't budge, and the '06 c6 sline wouldn't budge more than $100.00. SO almost gave up and started looking back into BMW X5 4.4's and 4.8is because you can pick them up for a song now and I practically took many apart and put them back together(xoutpost.com valley pan gasket, etc) But then looked on cars.com one night saw this Misano red sline and has 44,575 mi on the clock. It looked great! Clean carfax, clean car. I even found the dealer who sold it to the current owner and talked to him and gave me all the details. Got in touch with the owner and we talked(Car was listed at $23.9k) Something didn't sound right, called cars.com to confirm if it was a real listing, they confirmed it was. (Car listed originally in March at $31K, then gradually came down over the months.) Called owner back to work a deal, finally settled on $21K. Set up the Audi to get a PPI at the Audi Dealership, told me everything that was wrong. (Needs new serp belt, valve cover gaskets, new battery, and ACC not working) Talked to the owner and he already approved the Valve cover gaskets, acc realignment and a few other things. I only have to do the battery and serp belt.

Set up shipping, which was a nightmare and I finally got the car. Tried to get the C6 set up yesterday for detail, but started to rain, so may do it this weekend. Im excited to use the Klasse AIO and Glaze and see how deep and rich the paint will look!!!

Congratulations! It looks great and the price you got it for is amazing. Audi's are such great buys on the used market. It does suck for those who buy new but it was good to us. We bought a C6 A6 Avant for half the price of what it cost brand new. $21K for your A6 is unbelievable!

Nice work, and I enjoyed reading your argument with the finance people at GM. Very funny.

Have fun with your car, I enjoy my 06 4.2L as well. That was a great deal.

Enjoy in good health!

That's crazy about the GMAC reqs. I'm curious - did you finance any part of this purchase? My credit union is offering 1.74% financing, and they keep mailing/emailing me about it so I'm tempted.

i had great experience w my credit union also.. man.. they really exceeded my expectations... the office is real humble (i hate the fancy shiny pretentious banks all forced smiling in your face) the credit union rep looked green behind the ears but smart enough to get the job done. but the cherry on top was ... we had agreed on a rate when filling out the app and running credit but once i picked out the car and submitted the VIN paperwork they notified me that they LOWERED my rate .25% ... not huge but they could have kept it as profit and i wouldn't have know anything but they returned it to me... don't expect dealers or banks to do this... they handled all paperwork with the dealer. was all way too easy for me
love them

btw NJDuramax congrats! the 4.2 is pretty rare and the red even more so... if your anything like me you will love it alot plus the fact u got the keep alot of your $ ... im just outside of AC if u ever need MMI updating help or VCDS / VAG cables let me know
