Two: Ford's quality is way better than Audi, I don't think we can really brag about how reliable our cars are. They are up there with Toyota and Honda. Three: Have you guys ever tried their Ford Sync with the navigation system? Much more easier to use and much more integrated to the car. Four: That engine gives them power from 1500RPM till over 5900RPM. It's a strong engine.

Ok, having said that our cars still have a better quality feel. You can tell the difference between those cars and our cars. There are some details that the mainstream automakers just can not do the same. Nice effort but not enough for the Luxury buyer. I do wish Audi would have something like their Sync though. That thing imports your contacts to the car, reads you text messages, lets you set temperature by voice command, if you get the travel lynk option you can get weather, sports scores, movie times and you can call the teatre by clicking on the screen. Anyways, This is good. Remember, competition amongst automakers is good for the consumer.
Obviously, you have not read Consumer Reports (or CR for short) over the last four years, JP2422. If you look at CR, Audi is tied with Volvo for the best non Asian brand. Ford is close to Audi and Volvo.

However, Ford is a good distance behind ALL of the Asians (anybody that thinks Ford is close to any of the Asians is ultra delusional, ultra stupid or both of the above) according to CR, JD P&A and SV.

But, in your defense, Audi and Volvo are also a good distance behind ALL of the Asians (anybody that thinks so is also ultra delusional, ultra stupid or both of the above), also according to CR, JD P&A and SV.

Unless JD Power and Associates (or JD P&A for short) and Strategic Vision agree with CR 100%, JD P&A and SV are 100% trash and are to be ignored. CR is 100% excellence and rules! Long live CR! In JD P&A's defense, they have showed tremendous improvement from Audi in dependability, durability, quality, reliability, satisfaction and service over the last two years (I don’t know about SV as I have not looked at them in years; they are very obscure).

CR, however, has showed tremendous improvement from Audi in dependability, durability, quality, reliability, satisfaction and service over the last four years. Therefore, Audi's dependability, durability, quality, reliability, satisfaction and service over the last four years (NOT the last two years) truly have improved tremendously.

CR alone typically surveys 800,000+ vehicle owners per year (CR alone surveyed 1,300,000+ vehicle owners in 2006).

JD P&A and SV typically survey the following number of vehicle owners per year (including 2006): 200,000 to 300,000 (JD P&A). This is 500,000+ to 600,000+ less than CR (1,000,000+ to 1,100,000+ less than CR in 2006).

100,000 to 200,000 (SV). This is 600,000+ to 700,000+ less than CR (1,100,000 to 1,200,000 less than CR in 2006).

300,000 to 500,000 (JD P&A and SV combined). This is 300,000+ to 500,000+ less than CR (800,000+ to 1,000,000+ less than CR in 2006).

Overall, it sounds like you need to get some your facts straight by quite an amount, JP2422 because a lot (about 40%) of what you said is 100% rubbish.

If all you guys care about is 0-60 time, may I suggust buying a Subrau WRX. The SHO does have a nice engine, but there is more to a car than just an engine.

CR? The same ones that recomended a Toytoa Camry and Toyota Tundra before they were out and then had to take it back because of how troublesome they were? I have never trusted CR but if you do it's ok. Go with what you trust. I can not find CR's chart but in the latest JD VDS Ford and Audi were tied and were right behind Honda. All above Industry average. Initial Quality is different thoguh. Ford is one point under Toyota and Audi is under industry average. To your defense and to Audi's defense this is just after 90 years of ownership. Not 3 - 5 years. And yes, it takes more than the engine to get to the level of Audi. The craftsmanship is not there for Ford. You can tell just by closing the door of an Audi that it is more well made than a Ford.

You could have bought a 3.0T with PP for lower than that just a couple of months ago when Audi had some incredible incentives on the 2009 model.

The question that matters is this: who the hell that knows the slightest thing about cars would now buy the V8 model over the supercharged V6? Despite Audi's official numbers, the V8 model doesn't do anything close to 5.8 secs, nor does the V6 model do 5.9secs. The times I have seen for the V8 range from 6.5 to 7secs. For the V6, the times are from 5.4 to 5.8 seconds.

Unless you are after the illusory "prestige" of owning a V8 or you are such a sissy that you can't stand the roughness of a V6 and need the extra smoothness of the V8, the V6 seems a better buy to me. I suspect the 4.2 engine is on its way to joining the 3.2.

Yes agreed, the V8 is pointless. I think they are afraid to get rid of it because they think certain customers demand a V8. Even when the V6 outperforms it.
