My battery died while driving i recharged it and again the battery died the the generator light is on. in the manual it say it could be the generator or the car electrical system. if it is the vehicle electrical system how could i pin point the problem and what do i do next.

You need to scan the car to figure out if any DTCs are present, which should give you an idea where the problem is. How old is your battery?

Did you have the "battery" light on? I would not believe that the battery discharged without the computer noticing the low voltage coming from the generator.
Can you measure the voltage on the battery and in other parts while the motor is running?

all i was wasn't in the car when the battery but if it was the generator wouldn't there be a code once the battery was recharged. there was no code. I just don't know how the battery can die so fast I only had the battery for a year and a half. do anyone recommend a battery i should buy for the car.

I bought the OEM battery from an audi dealer a couple months ago. It costs $200. (you need to call around, each dealer cost are different.) Other brands would have cost about the same. Why not OEM I guess. I did program the new battery using VAG. The OEM battery came with 2 years replacement warranty and 5 years pro-rate warranty. Like in your case, the dealer would have given you a new battery.

FYI - a dealer quoted me $499 part and labor to replace the battery.
