Heated Steering Wheel
I have a 05 a6 4.2 and i noticed some steering wheels in the a6's mainly 07+ have the button on the left side of the steering wheel well mines doesn't instead the manual says if the interior of the car is below 38 degrees(i think) and the heated seats are on then thats when the steering wheel will heat up well now that it is december 3rd and now the morning temps are in the 30's and 20's(at least here in (Kentucky) i turn the heated seats on in the morning but the steering wheel doesn't heat up at all anybody else have this problem?

In the 05 there was no seperate switch for the heated steering. In the 05 the heated steering wheel is turned on by turning on the driver's heated seat. The steering wheel in my 05 gets quite toasty. However, keep in mind that the heated steering wheel was an option in 05. If you have the ski sack in the pass through to the trunk then you have the heated steering wheel option. If you don't have the ski sack then your car does not have the heated steering wheel option.

@Kevin Gary I do have the ski sack in the back....and i dont have the button on the steering wheel however the owner's manual says "if the temperature in the vehicle interior is less than 68 degrees the steering wheel heating is turned on automatically when the seat heating is turned on" now with that being said I do all of that now that its cold i make sure the heated seat is on level 4 and still no heat coming from the steering wheel...?

If you have the ski sack then you have the heated steering wheel. I have the same model and year car that you do. When I turn on the heated seat the heated steering wheel comes on automatically and it is very noticeable. If you can't feel the heat then it is not working. I would check the fuses. If the fuses are ok, then the heating element probably went bad.

i have the same car and the ski pass thru.. no separate button.. now that its been getting colder ..i wanted to confirm my heated steering wheel also. i decided to just keep my drivers seat heated seats on to see if i could get results.. my wheel isnt cold but its not snuggly warm either.. i cant get convinced if my wheel has broken filaments.. a few times when the wheel should feel colder then it does i feel like i feel some warmth.
