Help, lost something behind the cup holder
Hi Guys,
as I was getting out of my car (2008 A6), a had a key not on a key ring fall out of my hand in slide behind the cupholder cover. The cover was open so there is a little gap between the cover and the center console near the MMI buttons. I am able to close the cover, but it doesn't open up all the way.
If I could remove the cover I could get the key out as I can see it. Does anyone know how to safely remove the cover? If I wedge a screwdriver on the side it feels like there's some side to side play on the cover, almost like you should be able to move it over to the side then pop it out. But so far I haven't been able to, and I don't want to force the issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Take the flexible plastic piece on the bottom out and you'll will see a screw under there. Un-screw that then apply your hands on the inside wall of the cup holder with some good grip and yank it up ward. Now you can figure out the rest. If needed, the MMI button panel is not hard to open either. Good luck.
