Default High pitched noise from radio

I am getting this piercing, high pitched noise, which varies in volume and appears to be intermittent with the radio sound, i.e., it is on then off then the radio program comes on, loudly. I can't control the radio volume nor operate the "Sound" on the MMIS. I am taking it to Audi tomorrow, but it is incredibly annoying, as well as disconcerting, as something might be really wrong somewhere, like the amp. No buttons seem stuck. Any thoughts?

More info: I can make it stop by entering the station, then it comes back and I have to keep doing it. I can't select the "Sound" setting on the MMIS; nothing happens when I press that lower right button.

I read somewhere else that it could be the Bose amp.

I had that, too. Turns out it was Mariah Carey.

Known issue - there is a tab for this. Happens intermittently, more commonly when it gets cold. It's almost like a static noise!

Had the same problem for one night. Next morning came to my car, switched radio on and everything was all right with noise.

Cold was causing this problem ( i think co), because there was -15 degreec celsius.

Dealer replaced sound module (#4F0-035-223-A) under Certified Warranty. Had to order part but when diagnosing, they must have rebooted it or something because it worked fine until new part was installed.
