Default Hit a deer

Didn't see it until it was almost past the car. Adjuster should come to look tomorrow. Radiator got pushed in but I can't open the hood to see if there is any other damage.

Ouch!

That's the only reason I don't live further out in the country. I've had a few scary deer mishaps over the last 5 years of living in VA. It would have been nice to get a place further out with more acreage, but deer scare the crap out of me.

Yikes! Sorry to hear that.

My wife and I were out driving around after adjusting the headlights on her A6 and upon our return home, I almost hit a big buck that was crossing the road in front of us, while the sight of a big doe grazing 30 feet from the road caught my attention.

The last A6 we had, tagged at least 4 different deer with my wife at the wheel. She hit on different incidents, and the other two incidents were actually deer scrambling and running into her.

Good luck with your repairs.

I am going out for my anniversary dinner tomorrow night. If venison is on the menu, I will probably have to get that. F'ing deer.

Finally got the call from the insurance company. Car is a total loss. Supposed to get the value on Monday. Dang. I really liked my car. Just had brand new tires put on, had changed the trans fluid with Amsoil.

Totaled for that little (from appearances) damage?

I'd be curious to know what the insurance company says it's worth. Only had one car totaled in my life and had to fight tooth and nail with the insurance company.

I'm curious as well. NADA comes up ~9500, Kelly Blue book is more like 13k.

Got the valuation today. Offer was right at 15k (that includes my $500 deductible). I got quite a bit for condition and low miles (72k). The tires were brand new too (had less than 300 miles on them). Not sure I can argue with the value much considering it's more than what I paid for it in March. Now to find another A6. I really don't think I want to get anything else (at least until the kids are through college).
