Default How do I know which brakes I have?

Apparently there are two different types of brakes on C6: 16" and 17". Is there a simple way?

Default I asked for a simple approach

such as model differntiation or VIN number distinction that Audi uses. Not taking the wheels off to make measurements that I don't even know where to make.

I am not trying to be flippant, but there truly is no easier way to figure it out. If that isn't for you then you need to take it to your dealer and ask them.

Default I doubt any A6 has 16" brakes

Not even a BMW M3 or a 'Vette has 16 inch brakes

Default Fair enough,

I thought there must be a easy designation (3.2 versus 4.2) that determine the size difference. I didn't think Audi randomly used two different sizes on a same model. Anywho, the online dealer was able to figure out I have 16" system from my VIN number. All is good. Thanks.

Look at the option codes on ur sticker inside the service book. Option code 1LG means u have 321mm front discs, the other (1ZL I think) is 347mm.
321mm is considered as 16" as rims smaller than 16" cannot fit, & 347mm is considered as 17" for the same reason.

I will be doing my brakes soon so wanted to replace the rotors while at it. The problem I am having is that I am not too sure which rotor fits my 3.2Q. Per senna60_94's post my spare tire comparment sticker shows a "1LG" option and therefore I must have 330mm fronts and 302mm rears, is this correct? Side question, are the calipers different size for vehicles with 347mm/330mm vs. 330mmm/302mm rotors?
