Oh I see,,,is that priced quoted by the salesman a fair price for the add-on? That is pretty cool as I rather have an integrated Navi as supposed to a garmin or any of those portable ones.

Well, let me keep hunting

Doesn't sound too bad, but I believe you can find it for cheaper on Ebay.

Default clean carfax...

my car has a clean car fax, but a bad Autocheck which reports frame damage, or course the dealer's site only showed the one-owner "clean" carfax...sometimes a good deal is too good. my 2 cents.

thanks kd, I have learned also that having a clean carfax does not mean that the car is totally "deseaced" free. Dealers will do anything to move their cars and being in the market for an used car is sometimes nerve racking. Luckly I have a great mechanic who also does bodywork so I will have him check any car that I am seriously comtemplating purchasing.

Well, the person I had spoken with was not there today but someone else helped me. He indicated that the car had been sold, and indeed he showed it to me with the Sold stiker, but proceeded to ask me if I wanted to leave a deposit since the first buyers credit was not that good and perhaps he felt the deal was not going to go through. Of course I declined the offer. I saw the car and although it did not have navi he claimed that I can have it installed by the dealer for and additional $995 (can that be done???) and he indicated that it will be just like if I had ordered the car with navi. I asked him how much the first buyer paid for it, and he said that he paid the asking price of $29,995 (if he thought I belived that, he believes in pink flying elephants); he then ask me how much I was willing to pay for the car. I first told him $28,900 with the navi installed....he was willing to sell it to me at that price, but I've told him that I am not giving a deposit in lieu of the other person not getting the credit...so obviously he lied about the price paid for the car if indeed was sold. I then told him that if they take $28,000 with the navi install, I would take it. He said that there is not way and that he would not bother write down my info as he would not even consider sell that car at a "loss".....well, as I was walking out, he said "wait, just let me get your info just in case" ...these car sales men never change, they still play those stupid games.

Anyways, on Wed I am looking at a 08 with the s-line interior package, shades, music interface, navi, premium and tech pakge...it is Misano red/black int but the asking price is $40,995 (16,679 miles, non cpo). I'll see how much they are willing to come down.

I just did not get a good vibe from the rep.
The 2nd one seems way overpriced, even if it is S-line and slightly lower miles. I mean, 28ish vs 40+? Not to mention the extended warranty also has a retail value of 2-3k

I totally agreed, there is no way that I will even complentate that car unless they are willing to go to the low 30's. Princeton Audi is part of Flemingto Audi and they tend to overstate the price of their used car inventory. But my manager is a good friend of the owners's son, so I will see if that have some sort of leverage. If I like the car, I think that it is only worth no more than $34k to $35k and with negociation I think that if I can get it for $33,000 I will take it, but of course, that will mean a whooping $7,900 price drop. well I will see
