I test drove the M35x today. I think that car beats out the A6 for me!

I drove it a couple of weeks ago.......
It's a nice car, and they'll sell a LOT of them. The exterior is OK, IMO. If you like the G35, then you'll like the M35. Seen next to each other, it's amazing how much alike they look.
The interior is well turned out, but I didn't care for the "shelf" design much. The gauges are an improvement over the G35, but still don't say "luxury" to me. Back seat room is just OK, and the trunk is small, with a small opening. The lack of a fold down rear seat is a major drawback, IMO.
Driving impression: Good power, though a bit raucous as the RPMS increase. The plaudits this engine has received are well deserved, but the comments about its relative lack of refinement when pushed are dead on.
Quick steering, decent ride. Too much road/tire noise - a surprising oversight.
As much as I appreciated the power, on balance I liked the C6 better.

That's what I mean about commenting on how it was to drive!
Noisy 6 cylinders and road noise seem a constant in the Infiniti line. Excellent bang for buck, but when pushed, you see where they saved the pennies. If you never push, it's a great choice IMHO:-)
People buy a German car (any brand) because of how it drives - or at least promises to drive. Yeah, the gadgets are nice, but that isn't usually why people are willing to shell out the extra dough. Yeah, there can be prestige involved, but those brands got their prestige for how they drove - even if that isn't quite so true with some brands/models these days.
Interesting to note that during a lunch lead-and-follow at Laguna Seca at brisk, but nowhere near time trial/racing speeds, the G35 was the only car to spin during the whole session. No, not an awd version, but interesting given the variety of the field (plenty of Alfas of course, but also a C4 A6, Acuras, Subarus, Mustangs, etc).
