First of all thanks for all the responses ... special kudos to Audi S5 TC ... lots of good info there.

I spoke with AoA this AM and they're gonna waive one lease payment which is I think is a good show of faith on their behalf ... of course when it rains next I'll be cursing the Audi gods again.

Driving an A6, as we all know, is a wonderful experience and the reason I have one. I just wish they could get their act together on the build front. Both my A6's have had numerous 'little' issues ... broken MMI *****, non latching trunk, bad water pumps, blown headlamps, scratchy CD players ... and that really compromises the overall experience for me personally.

Consider yourself lucky. Mine has a faulty ABS module. Dealer quotes $2400 for part alone. Went around the block to the part department, another quote is $1600 for part. That pissed me off so I went home and fixed the thing myself. Saved a tons of money after 4 hours of work.

Bummer, but decent accomodation by AOA.

I'm waiting for delivery on my sixth Audi. The only one I had any trouble with was the Q7 - it was an 2007, new model, loaded with most electronics, and we had some issues in the begining, but they were all resolved (except a small short somewhere I could hear through the radio on rainy days).

But, I feel like I'm playing russian roulette...

Play the odds - if you do buy another, it could be perfect!

I just recently got that faulty abs module problem. The dealer also quoted me $1600 for the parts and $1800+ for parts and labor.

I was a bit frustrated cause this year alone I have fixed

1. My entire MMI system
2. Broken right tail lamp assembly
3. Right headlight ballast and Adaptive module

I love my car but sometimes I wonder if its worth it and just sell it?

lol, so your dealer didn't put the "extra" amount onto part. They put it into the labor though lol. See how they will find one way or another to make us overpaying? My dealer said replacing the whole module should not be more than 5 hours which is around less than $1000.

The bad news I have for you: because your car has adaptive cruise control, your may be only able to get the part through dealer. Get me the the serial numbers you can possibly find on the module and the part number they have in your est. paperwork. I will double check for you. If I can locate the part. I will be able to help you replacing the ABS module.

You guys are scaring me-I was thinking of getting a 2005 to 2007 A6. Sounds like my 2000 2.7t is a gem compared to this a6.

I can't speak for the previous models but most current Audi from 2002 and after are very problematic compared to other brands. With 2 Audi's in the house, every year, I find myself running around trying to get something fixed. I love the car though, I feel safer in them and the style isn't bad at all hence why i'm still with Audi till now. The A4 is probably the best, many times I ran into problem but a month or so after, Audi will always send me a recall letter on the very same thing so I get my money back there. The A6 is where my money goes in and kinda disappears. S5 is my next move lol

If that is the case BlueSander, than either you keep getting lemons or your dealer in incompetent (or both).

Actually, the only Audis that are very problematic are the following: 1985 to 1990 (across the board), 2008+ A3 (2006 and 2007 are good), 2000 to 2006 TT, 1996 to 2005 A4, 2000 to 2005 S4, 1998 to 2004 A6, 2001 to 2005 AllRoad, 2003 S6, 2003 (USA only) and 2004 (Canada only) RS 6, Q7 4.2 (Q7 3.6 and 3.0TDI are good) 1997 to 2005 A8 4.2 and A8L 4.2, 2001 to 2003 S8 and 2005 and 2006 A8L W12.

Other than that, Audi's are no more problematic than all other non Asian brands (usually less especially compared to Gaguar-err-Jaguar).

In particular, the following Audi's are very good in terms of dependability, durability, quality, reliability, satisfaction and service (again, outside of the occasional lemon and outside of the vibrations with Audi's on the B8 platform, which is now limited to North American owners on AudiWorld and all other Audi forums): 2007+ TT, 2005.5+ A4 and S4, 2007 and 2008 RS 4, A5, Q5, S5, 2005+ A6, 2007+ S6, 2006+ A8 4.2 and A8L 4.2, 2007+ S8, 2007+ A8L W12 and R8.

All of the above has been confirmed by Consumer Reports and True Delta, making it 100% official, regardless of what JD Power and Associates and Strategic Vision say.

Oh, to quicksilver 2.7, don't let any Audi forum members' problems with their Audi models and model years mentioned in the fourth paragraph of this reply message above fool you. The truth is their dreadful experiences with their Audi models and model years mentioned in the fourth paragraph above are only typical of the Audi models and model years mentioned in the first paragraph of this reply message above. Other than that, their dreadful experience with Audi is absolutely NOT typical of the brand.

Everybody can absolutely rest assured that all Audi models and model years mentioned in the fourth paragraph above (including the 2005+ A6) are far superior in every conceivable way to all Audi models and model years mentioned in the first paragraph above (including the 2000 A6 2.7T, which you currently own), all of this also confirmed by Consumer Reports and True Delta, making it 100% official, regardless of what JD Power and Associates and Strategic Vision say.

And, to Gt_Dread, either you got a lemon or your dealer is incompetent (or both).
