Default Latest interior rattle

I know it's a long shot. But, figured I'd put it out there. Latest interior "noise" is a slight rattle (metallic/tinny) as best I can tell coming from low/under in the center console. Perhaps might be under the seats. Have checked and re-checked for any loose parts, loose wires, etc.... Noise is annoying and driving me CRAZY. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Take a look in the interior noise section of the TSB library linked in my signature. There are a few possibilities.

Wow, all I can say is Holy S---t ! Some of those 'fixes' really speak well for 'truth in engineering'. At the moment I don't believe what I'm hearing is related to any listed there. But, other rattles I've heard in the past may. Even so, do I really want a service tech taking apart my dash or center console to apply tape/lubricant/foam/etc and expect to not have a whole new issue afterwards !!??! Thanks

I used some of the felt from my kids' art supplies and shoved them into cracks or taped them on to surfaces to eliminate the squeaks. It worked very well and I did not take the risk of a tech taking the dashboard apart. I now have 97k miles and the car is completely silent. Good luck.

I had something sounding similar to what you're describing a while back..almost like a vibrating metal sound. My audi tech pulled off the driver side underside cover under the steering column and secured the little interior light assembly that lights up the footwell. No noise ever since. You should be able to hear if it's coming from there..

Had the same problem and Audi did spend a generous amount of time trying to figure it out. It needed the drivers side seat belt receiver to be tightened. It drove me up a freaking tree and now its been quiet for 3000+ miles. Good luck.

So I'm curious, many state that dealers spent time checking for the noises/rattles/etc. Did the dealer do so willingly under warranty/CPO coverage? What happened if they didn't find/fix, did they try to charge you directly for the labor time? (as would be my expectation....)
