this sounds like tranny fluid to me - New tranny fluid looks like dark-cloudy yellow...sort of custard colored stuff - a few miles it could become more brown or dark...that'd be my guess.

could be cosmoline.....
if in warmer weather you get some sticky, waxy substances, it could be cosmoline coming off parts during the mfg. process. Mostly harmless but annoying. You might want to drop by the dealer just in case.
