Or is the sport suspension a separate option for 2008+? Seems like for 2007 and prior the sport suspension was part of the S-Line package right?

If you're wondering what happened to the S4, the engine blew at 95K miles. And since we just had our first kid 5wks ago, I'm thinking I might have to step up a size in vehicle just to have a little more space.

for suspension and wheel option these had to ordered separately. for MY05-06 sline was a full package (wheels, body kit, suspension, headlight washers). I would check with dealer by VIN to see if it had the suspension option.

Sorry, fail. The switch-over to de-contenting sport suspension w/S-line was '08.

Okay, that makes sense. Then do all 2007 A6 4.2 S-Line models have the sport suspension?

Would love to find a reasonably priced A6 4.2 FSI with the sport suspension, but not many of those around. So I'm also considering private sellers, carmax, etc. Even if it's not CPO, if it's still under warranty I could buy an extended warranty for it.

I doubt a dealer is going to run VINs for me for non-CPO vehicles...any other ways I might verify option packages?

I can't seem to find confirmation of that anywhere online. And if I want both the 4.2 FSI and the sport suspension I'm stuck with only the newer 2007 and 2008 models (rather than 2005 and 2006). And yes, I realize I could change the suspension once I get the car (I had Stasis Streetsports on my B5 S4), but now that I'm married with a kid it's tougher to get things like that approved. Would be much easier if the car had roughly what I wanted to begin with.
