a lot of noise from engine (ticking and more)
don't know if this is normal, (just bought the car), didn't notice when i test drove it.
but when im outside the car, the engine idles loud even when warmed up, (doesn't sound like an exhaust leak).
it sounds like clicking and valve noise. it this normal for the 3.2 FSI? my nearest audi dealer is 40 mins away with traffic so i'd rather save the trip.
maybe i'm used to my whisper quiet IS, i don't know

Yup a little noise is normal. This is a charachteristic of the secondary air injection system, and the FSI. You will hear some ticking noise and it's perfectly normal.

yea im guessing so, also it sounds loud accelerating at any time, kind of like an american V8 from the 60's.
any oil i can switch to do decrease it?
maybe syntec 0w30?
better yet which oil is the best, i live in a climate where its below 0 in the winter? i've searched and people are saying the all mighty M1 isn't good the the FSI?

Ya there is a bit of a rumble from the car during exceleration. As far as that noise... I don't think you can really do anything to lessen it. Like I said, it's just a charachteristic of the engine architecture.

just so i know, which synthetic oil do people use on here, i've searched and can't get an answer....i thought Mobil-1 was the answer, but BITOG forums advise against it for the 3.2 FSI?
Also which oil filter? OEM?

OEM or MANN filters are the best for our cars. As far as oil goes thats about as big an issue as anything else. Everyone has their own favorites. Just make sure the oil is vw502 certified and you should be good. The bottle will actually say vw502 on it.
