MMI 2005 A6 problem
My 2005 A6 MMI starts up but will not accept the main button signal to begin function. The radio and other functions work for about 30 seconds then goes out completely. The electronic key function begain to fail a few days before the whole system fail started. It seems that there are lots of potential fixes can anyone help with specific solutions. Thank Audifile

Sounds like the same problems I was having which ultimately led to the car not starting at all. You need to get someone to scan your car and reset the faults. Chances are this will temporarily fix the no start issue.

Ok, this has now started to happenon my car. When i start the car the Radio comes on for 30s, i can not get it to switch over to any other function like nav or car. After 30 sec pass all the lights on the MMI flash and then the screen goes dark and no buttons work no sound from radio. I did the three button reset but no luck. Does anyone know where the fuse for the MMI controller is? I will try to reset the faults with Vag and see if this helps. Any one else have an idea?

I didnt do any optic changes in a few years. I added Nav when i first got the car. Everything worked well for years. As my CPO expired I did get Audi to Replace the MMI head (2-3 months old) due to a button malfuction. This just happened this morning, am wondering if some moisture got into the unit since its a rainy day today.

Ya, i have to wait to saturday to check the connectors on the controller since it involves takeingout the center console. Just for sh*& and giggles, i did check all connectors on the radio amp nav units. However since all are affected i have assume its the controller. My hopes aren't high on the loose connector since it behaves exactly the same time after time. I start car, audio is heard from sirus radio then all lights blink and the MMI shuts down. I would understand if i went over a pot hole or something but it happens as the car is motionless in park.
