Hi Kevin,
I think I have you to thank for the deal...I also picked up an XM receiver for about $93...
Shipped USPS to Canada cost me $119 US total.
I have not attempted installation yet so I am very interested in your experience...any pictures you can share would be a big help!
I had a discussion with the parts counter guy at the local dealership, and he made reference to the need to disconnect a wire to ensure that the VAG tool does not show an error code at the next service... Any idea what he is talking about??

Actually, you have me to tahnk for the deal ;-)
It's a very easy install. Down in my original thread from 4/04 I posted my install details.
Just post if you've got questions.
The only think you need to remove is the fiber loopback adapter, but without removing that and plugging the wires into the sat tuner, XM wont work. Also, remove the dust cap from the xm tuner fiber input. Its a little black piece of plastic coverinng the actual port.

I am trying to install my XM module today in my '05 A6....
Where did you find the wires??
I have the radio rack out, have looked under all the foam and in all the crevasses...no luck.
Anyone have any ideas...or pics??
Thanks

I'll be interested to hear if the promo works up hear in Canada as I'm thinking of ordering it. I prefer to grab a Sirius, but I'll take the XM at this price.
If anyone is doing a swap and wants to sell their Sirius, please let me know

The wires are wrapped in foam, hanging to the left of the rack on the drivers side of the trunk. You need to remove the access panel. They should be pretty easy to find.

Hmmm...
I took the rack out because the wires were not easy to find...and I still can't find them.
If you trace the wires on your car backwards from the XM module, where do they join the other wires? If I find the joint in the harness perhaps I can find where they are hidden.
I am also starting to suspect that the wiring on my Canadian model A6 is different, although the XM was an option on the car...
I don't suppose you have any pics of your installation I could compare to?
Thanks

I'll try to get you some pics tonight. My car is at the audi dealer getting a new trunk latch, but they gave me an a6 loaner so I can use that instead.
