Re: pics
Here you go...
The wires are routed directly above the radio rack, then down the side, and into the tuner. This is on my 2006 loaner. I will look at my 2005 when I pick it up tonight and let you know if it's different. I've marked the pictures up so you can see what's going on

Re: pics
Many thanks!!
I appreciate the effort...unfortunately it won't help me. I was at the dealership yesterday for a different issue and presented the radio to the service manager and asked him what it would take to install. He was most accommodating and said to leave it with him and he would look into it.
Here's the thing. The service manager determined that the radio was indeed the right part for my vehicle, but that my vehicle doesn't have the harness!
He printed off the detailed Vehicle Data sheet from their computer, and it shows a "PR number 129" code of "TVE - w/o TV reception/digital radio reception" where most cars show a "PR number 130" code of "TVE - satellite radio reception USA".
I believe this may be a result of it being an early production car for Canada, production date 2004-08-18.
It would seem that for the moment I am stuck unless some makes an aftermarket add-on harness. This is very odd considering that the satellite radio option is visible greyed-out on the mmi screen when I select "band" under am/fm.
If anyone has any thoughts on how to proceed I am all ears...

Wow.. that's odd. I would imagine Audi should take care of you if it was listed as an option on the car. That's really odd that the harness just simply isn't there. Well, good luck. Sorry I couldn't help. Hopefully my pics help someone.

For $90, I just can't wait
I bought the XM to swap out my Sirius. And the merger is not a foregone conclusion. It still needs to be approved by the SEC. Though both Sirius and XM would lead you to believe it's a foregone conclusion. Personally, I do think it's likely though.
