I'm experiencing this problem for several years now in my C6, sometimes worst than others, and every time I connect the vagcom there usualy is an error on the phone module.

Anyone replaced this module, what was the problem/issues with it?

Hello All:

Just to close this out...it turned out that the main MMI "module" had died (not the bluetooth). It was replaced at my local Audi dealer under CarMax's MaxCare extended warranty ($1200)

PLEASE forgive me for being an archeologist and digging up this old thread! I have been living w/o MMI functionality for at least a year. I have NO idea why it went out, but prob is same as OP: it went out one day and screen will now only power up for about 20 sec. w/no lights on control panel. Don't own a VAG-COM, so I'd like to know EXACTLY what to tell the dealer to look for, so that they don't spend endless hours (@$100 per hour diag) chasing shadows..any help? oh yes, I don't know if I have a GW either... Thanks!!

At the minimum go to someone and get a VAG-COM log pull. But the standard troubleshooting should apply: check fuses, ensure battery is good, etc... Really not sure why you'd wait a YEAR to actually resolve this, I get bent out of shape after having an issue for a day
