My 2005 A6 3.2 has the well know issue of losing surround sound setting.
I talked to Livermore Audi to do the MMI update.
But according to them I need to have the Navteq V5 DVD before they will do it.
My car came with the V4 DVD.
They want me to buy the $200/- map update DVD.
The miles on my car is 49k so I have very little time before warranty expires.
What can be done?
Thanks,
Roy

I doubt you'd have too much trouble finding someone with a v5 disc to give you anyway, but you really should buy the most recent version...

they upgraded mine to the latest version because of the surround feature not working properly, but they told me i will need the V5 nav disc if you want some of the new nav features to work, but it was not mandatory. just FYI

You get the MMI update when you have troubles with your Audi, this is part of warranty.
A new Navteq Navigation DVD is not because the old one (v4) is still working.
It is not part of warranty to keep your car software up to date.

Talked to Livermore Audi.
They are adament that I will have to pay $350/- for upgrading the navteq disk to V5.
According to them it is not provided free.
I even forwarded them the TSB from pierreb signature.
They say that is not a TSB from Audi but from some third party which independent garages use.
I am really pissed.
